Hey there! I was hoping to broach the topic of portable infoboxes, if you're not already familiar. The general idea behind them is that they're functional on both desktop and mobile themes - thus "portable" between the two. With 68% of our readers using the mobile theme, portable infoboxes would be the way to go, as the current ones don't function that well on mobile. As it stands, we don't actually utilise this sort of portable code.
In saying that, I did notice we use a fairly specialised variation on the infobox concept, I can't really say I've seen it many places before! I would have to say upfront, while I love the design, it's not entirely conducive to SEO, which is something you certainly want in order to be attracting readers! Is there any particular reason you wanted to stick with this design, or do you reckon it's perhaps time for a bit of an update?
Oh no that's alright, I'm here to help you out! I wouldn't at all want to step on your toes in regards to the work you've put in! More what I was hoping to discuss was the readability of the current "infoboxes"; the only problem with their current design is that for two-thirds of your readers, they're simply not functional. I was hoping we might be able to come up with a more conducive design, if you're at all open to the idea! :)
Hey there, I'm MakeShift, and I've been assigned to the Elementary Wiki as your Wiki Manager! I'm here to help you guys and act as a sort of "liaison" between you and full-time Fandom staff, and to generally help you make sure your wiki's in tip-top shape.
Also, while I'm introducing myself, I might bring up Fandom's latest project, in case you're unfamiliar with it, the Unified Community Platform, or UCP. In how the UCP affects the general user, the project will seek to make editing and getting around wikis a whole lot easier, so it's nothing but an upgrade in terms of editing and content creation, and a bonafide benefit to all.
I'll be here during the whole process and well past it to help with any concerns you guys might have, so by all means don't hesitate to contact me if you need an assist!
